Our Ethos
Care
Care is at the heart of everything we do. It shapes the way we look after our children, support our families and value our team. We believe that every child should feel safe, loved and understood, surrounded by people who take the time to know them, listen to them and celebrate who they are.
But care reaches far beyond the relationships we build with one another. It is in the way we nurture kindness, encourage compassion and teach little ones to be thoughtful towards the world around them. From caring for our animals and looking after the natural environment, to showing respect for others and appreciating the little things, we want care to be something children experience every day and carry with them as they grow.
For us, care isn't just something we provide. It's something we live, share and pass on.
Play
We believe play is at the very heart of childhood. It is how little ones make sense of the world, discover new interests, build confidence and learn without even realising it. We give children the time, freedom and space to follow their curiosity, explore their ideas and enjoy the simple magic of being a child.
And play isn't just for the children. We believe in the importance of a playful team, too. Our staff join in, get messy, laugh, imagine and embrace the fun alongside the little ones. Whether we're building dens, exploring outdoors, creating something wonderful or simply sharing a silly moment, we want play to be something we all enjoy. Because some of the most meaningful learning happens when we're having fun together.
Grow
Growth is all around us at Kingwood. From the fruit and vegetables we grow in our gardens, to the changing seasons and the natural world around us, children have the opportunity to see, experience and understand growth every day. We nurture their curiosity, give them room to develop at their own pace and celebrate every new skill, discovery and little milestone as they begin to flourish and learn from taking risks.
But growing doesn't stop with the children. We believe in continually growing as a team, too. Through ongoing learning, professional development and shared experiences, we encourage our staff to build their knowledge, develop their skills and feel confident in the important work they do. As individuals, as a team and as a setting, we are always learning, evolving and finding new ways to grow. After all, there is always something new to discover.
